Measure X protects our unique and thriving community.
Many of us choose to live in Loma Linda because of its scenic views, natural areas, small-town character, high quality of life, and because residents tend to live longer than in most places.
Passing this measure is an investment in maintaining City services and infrastructure, such as public safety, roads, parks, and open space, so that our community continues to be a great place to live and raise a family.
Measure x maintains and upgrades recreational and open spaces.
The City of Loma Linda prides itself on its seven parks, as well as recreational facilities and 1,700 acres of open space and natural areas, but the City does not have the funding needed to continue to maintain them in the way that residents expect.
This measure will provide the resources to maintain and upgrade our community’s recreational areas, so that residents can enjoy our special community and children have safe places to play.
Measure x Provides resources to prevent crime.
During certain times of the day, there are no more than two sheriff deputies patrolling our City, which makes up 25,000 residents during the evening and a population of more than 60,000 during the day.
This measure could help add and retain more deputies to increase the number of patrols and keep neighborhoods and residents safe.
The most recent San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department crime statistics for Loma Linda shows over 550 reported property crimes, including burglaries, thefts, and auto thefts.
This measure will help maintain 911 emergency response times and Sheriff patrols in neighborhoods and business areas to keep residents and their property safe
Measure x provides local control and strong accountability of city funds.
This measure includes tough accountability provisions such as public disclosure of all spending and annual independent financial audits. These fiscal safeguards will ensure that funds from this measure will be used efficiently, effectively, and as promised.
The state imposes expensive regulations and bureaucracy which takes away funding and local tax revenue from our City. However, all funds raised by this measure are legally required to be spent in Loma Linda, which will ensure local control of this revenue and provide a guaranteed source of funding for city services that cannot be taken by Sacramento.
These are all reasons why Measure X keeps Loma Linda a great place to live, work and raise our families.
